ReelLink ("we", "us", or "our") is a daily movie puzzle game. This privacy policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Information We Collect
When you create an account, we collect:
- Your email address
- Your chosen display name
- Your puzzle results (score, steps, time, solution path)
- Your game progress (mid-puzzle state for resume across devices)
When you play as a guest, we store only your puzzle results and progress locally on your device. Nothing is sent to our servers.
How We Use Your Information
- To save your puzzle history and streaks across devices
- To power the friends system and leaderboards
- To show your results to friends you've connected with
- To send you account-related emails (password reset, etc.)
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your data with third parties except as described below.
Movie Data
ReelLink uses the TMDB API to provide movie and actor information. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. When you search for actors or movies, your search queries are sent to our server which forwards them to TMDB. We do not store your search queries.
Data Storage
Your account data is stored on secure servers. Puzzle results and game progress are stored in a PostgreSQL database. We use industry-standard security practices to protect your data.
Friends System
If you use the friends feature, your display name and today's puzzle score are visible to your accepted friends. You control who can see your results through the friends system — only accepted friends can see your data.
Your Rights
- You can change your display name at any time in the app
- You can delete your account by emailing us
- You can play as a guest with no account required
Children's Privacy
ReelLink is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the "last updated" date at the top of this page when we do.
